The Master of Occupational Health and Safety Extension offers a comprehensive blend of academic instruction and research initiatives, aiming to advance safety standards and cultivate future leaders in the Occupational Health and Safety field.
This Extension program allows you to focus your studies on either Health Promotion or OHS Research. Students starting during the Spring Session are required to pursue the Health Promotion specialization.
Program highlights
Featuring adaptable learning methods, this program combines digital coursework with intensive 3-5 day campus workshops designed for practical engagement with the curriculum. The in-person sessions leverage various university facilities, including UOW's fully-equipped OHS laboratory.
Throughout this program, you'll acquire expertise to tackle challenging workplace health and safety concerns using both theoretical understanding and practical approaches. The curriculum strongly emphasizes developing communication abilities crucial for successful OH&S policy implementation.
A recognised 3-year Bachelor degree; a Master of Occupational Health and Safety; a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; or either a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hygiene with a WAM of at least 65. Applicants with other relevant qualifications and/or work experience may be considered.
