Pure Mathematics delves into pattern discovery and problem-solving, offering fresh perspectives on natural phenomena, technological advancements, and commercial applications while paving the way for creative solutions. This discipline emphasizes building and examining fundamental mathematical theories through logical deduction. The Bachelor of Mathematics program cultivates versatile abilities in analytical thinking, statistical interpretation, chance and variation assessment, quantitative modeling, operational planning, and rational analysis. The curriculum is adaptable, allowing students to incorporate subjects from diverse fields to broaden their professional prospects.
Students may qualify for industry-sponsored scholarships, summer research grants, and faculty-mentored undergraduate research initiatives, along with participation in Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) programs and cross-institutional courses through our Access Grid Room facilities.
Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.
