Within the mathematics curriculum, you have the option to either focus deeply on a specific mathematical discipline or achieve broad proficiency in mathematical applications. You'll gain quantitative and analytical capabilities, supported by fundamental knowledge in calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, mathematical analysis, and modeling techniques.
As an alumnus, you'll leverage UQ's extensive mathematics research connections and industry partnerships, expanding your professional opportunities and enhancing your ability to apply mathematical concepts across various fields.
In the science component, engage with and question established ideas through one of Australia's most diverse range of scientific disciplines. You'll cultivate interdisciplinary scientific understanding and practical competencies while tailoring your studies to align with your personal interests and career goals, with the flexibility to create customized course combinations.
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).

IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
