The Bachelor of Communication and Media - Bachelor of Computer Science program enables you to explore the growth of media industries, audiences, and practices at both local and global levels, while analyzing their technological, policy, social, and cultural impacts. This dual degree merges theoretical knowledge with practical computational techniques and their real-world applications. You'll develop skills to create methodologies, build tools, and program for diverse applications including mobile data solutions, game development, and managing information systems and big data. The program provides a robust computer science education alongside comprehensive training in global communication professionalism. Within the Bachelor of Communication and Media component, you'll select from five specializations: Digital and Social Media, Visual Communication Design, Journalism, Global Screen Media, or Marketing, Communication and Advertising. For the Computer Science portion, you can specialize in one of these areas: Big Data, Cyber Security, Digital Systems Security, Game and Mobile Development, or Software Engineering.

To qualify for entry into Honours, students must have qualified at this University for a Bachelor degree with an average of at least 75% across the major (or majors) in which the Honours degree will be undertaken with the additional requirement of a Distinction in two of the 300 level subjects required by the major. Students considering an Honours degree are encouraged to talk to the Program Coordinator well in advance to seek approval for enrolment, discuss their program, and negotiate a thesis topic and supervisors.
