The Zoology program offers students the chance to explore animal life and ecosystems, including Western Australia's distinctive wildlife. These environments vary widely, encompassing arid deserts, seasonal wetlands, and lush rainforests. Students in this field work to address challenges within these ecosystems. The curriculum delivers comprehensive training in animal anatomy, biological processes, and evolutionary mechanisms that shape biodiversity. Coursework covers physiological systems, reproductive biology, animal behavior, ecological communities, and genetic foundations. This discipline supports critical conservation efforts and marine research, playing a vital role in contemporary fisheries studies and environmental stewardship. Note: The program may include two optional overnight field excursions (students should budget approximately $200 for four nights' accommodation and meals).
