Western Australia's exclusive Bachelor of Art History and Curatorial Studies program blends art historical expertise with practical curatorial training, opening doors to diverse careers in arts administration, museum curation, gallery management, and art critique. While emphasizing Art History and its practical applications, the program also develops essential skills in visual interpretation, analytical thinking, and effective communication. Students gain real-world experience through international study options, professional internships, and hands-on work with art collections, connecting theoretical knowledge with exhibition practices across different historical periods and global locations - from Renaissance Europe to contemporary Indigenous Australian art centers. The curriculum provides practical understanding of artistic creation and exhibition design, equipping graduates with the professional vocabulary needed in today's art world. Students learn multiple forms of art writing, from critical analyses to exhibition planning documents, preparing them for institutional roles or independent practice. The honors pathway enables progression to advanced research degrees internationally, with alumni currently pursuing graduate studies at prestigious universities abroad and holding positions in cultural institutions nationwide.
