The Master of Professional Accounting (Extension) equips graduates with essential accounting competencies, industry knowledge, and professional capabilities required for accounting careers, while fulfilling accreditation standards set by CPA Australia (CPAA) and Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). This extended program offers specialized study through seven elective options covering areas like forensic accounting, international financial reporting, and corporate governance.
The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning aligned with current industry demands. Its professional accreditation gives graduates competitive advantages for career advancement and employment prospects, qualifying them for educational membership in leading accounting associations.
Graduates can pursue diverse opportunities including financial positions in corporate settings, advisory roles in accounting firms, leadership roles across public and private sectors, and positions in non-profit organizations. The globally recognized CPAA and CAANZ credentials further expand international career possibilities.
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
