The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) equips students with in-depth psychological expertise to analyze cognition, neurological processes, and human conduct. Our psychology programs adhere to current standards set by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, American Psychological Association, and incorporate principles from the Australian Indigenous Psychology Education Project. This guarantees students acquire contemporary, globally applicable competencies prized across various industries. This honors program provides foundational training for multiple professional trajectories in tomorrow's job market. While serving as the initial qualification toward psychological registration, it also cultivates adaptable skills sought after by diverse employers. Alumni leverage psychological insights to address problems affecting individuals, communities, and broader society through understanding mental processes and behaviors.
Professional Pathways
Graduates may pursue roles including mental health practitioner, clinical counselor, behavioral therapist, policy specialist, data interpreter, digital security consultant, research professional, marketing strategist, personnel director, behavioral consultant, organizational development specialist, program assessor.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. Entry into the embedded honours 4th year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is guaranteed for students who achieve an average mark of 80+ across their top 10 highest-scoring Psychology subjects. Students with a lower average mark (i.e., 75+) may still be offered a place in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) subject to supervisory capacity, or will exit with a Bachelor of Psychology. Students with an APAC-accredited psychology Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply for the honours-equivalent UTS Online Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
