The Psychology Honours program is designed for students who have completed an APAC-accredited undergraduate psychology sequence and wish to pursue independent psychological research. Typically completed full-time over two semesters, this specialization offers research training, advanced exploration of contemporary psychological concepts, and a significant research project culminating in a thesis. The program provides strong research fundamentals, serving as a gateway to diverse career paths both within and beyond psychology, including clinical psychology.
Learning Outcomes
Design and conduct an autonomous, sustained critical examination of a selected research topic to contribute new knowledge to psychology.
Critically assess relevant psychological theories, concepts, and practices, connecting them to appropriate research methods and evidence to form valid conclusions.
Examine and interpret original psychological research data using suitable statistical or evaluative techniques when applicable.
