A dual qualification in information technology and legal studies equips students to harness technological advancements for career advancement. This interdisciplinary program focuses on practical IT competencies applicable to legal professions, while also developing comprehensive legal expertise valuable in the competitive tech industry.
The curriculum covers core legal principles (including ethics, criminal law, torts, contracts, and constitutional law) alongside essential IT subjects (such as coding, network systems, data management, and web technologies). Students can further tailor their studies through specialized electives aligned with their career aspirations. The Legal Futures and Technology specialization offers advanced technical training.
There's growing demand for legally-trained IT professionals. Graduates can pursue roles as legal practitioners or policy consultants in government agencies, corporate counsel positions at technology firms, or specialists in digital rights, online commerce, data protection, and cyberlaw. Other career paths include technology positions within legal practices, legal media organizations, or private law offices.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
The English proficiency requirement is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
