The Bachelor of Business Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is offered jointly by UTS Law and UTS Business. This course provides you with a robust foundation in business, as well as satisfying the academic requirements for admission as a lawyer. It also gives you the opportunity to gain advanced research skills that can be used in further higher degree research such as Master of Laws or PhD.

Please note that this is an exit-only course. There is no direct admission to it. Current UTS students who meet the criteria for Honours may be able to submit an Internal Course Transfer (Graduating) application to exit with this course. Check with the UTS Student Centre.

Undertaken full-time or part-time, this course will provide you with a coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in the discipline of law and equip you with advanced research, critical analysis and communication skills. These skills are highly valued in contemporary legal and business careers.

Learning is through full-time study, with opportunities for deeper legal exploration in a wide range of electives. Upon completion, diverse career paths await, including legal advisory roles, corporate law, consultancy, and specialisations in your chosen business field.

The program provides full-time study for students wishing to obtain a professional legal qualification that satisfies the academic requirements only for admission as a lawyer.

The degree seeks to provide students with the knowledge, competencies and values necessary to develop critical, analytical and evaluative skills essential for a dynamic and rewarding career in business and law.

Students have the opportunity to engage in deeper study of the law by studying Research Methodology and undertaking Research Thesis. This course can be a pathway to higher degree research programs.
