The Master of Teaching is a preparatory degree for aspiring educators, equipping you with the necessary skills to teach in primary or secondary schools. This program builds on existing higher education qualifications, allowing students to obtain their teaching certification in just 18 months through accelerated pathways. Your learning will be shaped by globally recognized research in English literacy, inclusive education, arts and creativity, rural education, and other fields influenced by Tasmania's distinctive educational landscape. Accredited by the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board, this qualification is valid across all Australian regions. Gain hands-on experience through 60 days of classroom placements, developing the skills to motivate future learners. Secondary teaching candidates will specialize in two curriculum areas based on their undergraduate major. The program offers both on-campus study in Hobart and complete online distance learning. Admission to most masters by coursework courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.
IELTS Score 7.5 (no individual band for listening and speaking less than 8.0, and writing and reading no less than 7.0)
UTAS Access-English Level 7 - 75% (no individual score for listening and speaking less than 80%, and writing and reading no less than 70%)
