The Master of Occupational Therapy program equips you to assist people in improving their capacity to participate in essential, desired, or required activities and engage with their communities. Using a strengths-focused method, occupational therapists employ various techniques to aid those impacted by disabilities, injuries, illnesses, or psychological challenges to take part in meaningful activities throughout their lives. You'll discover how to help individuals overcome obstacles and reach their objectives as a culturally sensitive and principled professional.

Your education covers effective communication with diverse clients and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. You'll cultivate abilities in clinical judgment, thoughtful self-evaluation, and sustainable, research-informed approaches. Through community initiatives and hands-on learning experiences, you'll practice applying occupational therapy methods to address intricate health concerns.

This program prepares you to work with individuals, families, caregivers, teams, and various healthcare professionals across multiple environments, including regional and isolated locations.

This full-time two-year program combines independent online study with weekly interactive sessions and group learning. Each semester includes two intensive week-long residential schools in Launceston, along with practical work placements. While Launceston serves as the primary learning center, the program's flexible structure allows you to complete portions of your studies from anywhere in Tasmania.

Upon completing the Master of Occupational Therapy, graduates will possess both the theoretical understanding and hands-on skills necessary to become certified Occupational Therapists.

English Language Requirements IELTS Academic minimum score of 7 overall and a minimum score of 7 in each individual band OR successfully completed a relevant tertiary qualification in English in any of the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States of America. within the previous 24 months. * Good academic progress must have been made with passes in more than 50% of enrolment in any given semester The IELTS result must be no older than two years at the expected course commencement date. All Other Requirements Admission to the Master of Occupational Therapy is competitive and achieving the entry requirements does not guarantee an offer for this course. Applicants who meet the entry requirements are ranked on academic performance and offers are made based on the number of places available. In addition to the English Language requirements you will need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible to apply: A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or a PhD from any of the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America. Achieved a minimum GPA requirement of 5.0 from their most recent course of eligible study Completed the equivalent of the following pre-requisites within the last 10 years: A minimum of two units (25 CPU) of relevant systems human anatomy and physiology, One unit (12.5 CPU) of study focused on social perspectives in health, such as psychology or sociology, and One unit (12.5 CPU) study of research methods; and/or evidence-based practice.
