This full-time one-year or part-time two-year program is delivered by the College of Science and Engineering in Hobart. The program aims to: deliver comprehensive expertise in a specific field of spatial information science, offer research training opportunities, equip students for both postgraduate studies and careers in research institutions, and provide specialized advanced courses in chosen spatial information science disciplines. The Honors program develops students' advanced capabilities and research proficiency within a focused surveying and spatial sciences domain. Graduates typically secure positions in government agencies at federal or state levels, or within major private sector companies. The Honors curriculum includes tailored coursework and a thesis, as determined by the program coordinator. Coursework, relevant to the selected research focus, accounts for 25% of the final evaluation. Students may choose from Group 2, 3, and 4 units offered by the College of Sciences and Engineering, subject to the coordinator's approval.
