This full-time one-year or part-time two-year (maximum duration) program is offered in Hobart and, depending on supervisor availability, in Launceston. The program objectives include: delivering advanced education in the student's undergraduate major field, providing research training to prepare for postgraduate studies (such as MSc and PhD programs) and research-oriented careers, and fostering specialized expertise in a specific scientific discipline. Honors graduates gain strong professional advantages in their chosen fields. BSc(Hons) graduates qualify for membership in various professional associations. Students will undertake research and produce a thesis. They may also need to complete advanced coursework units, along with supplementary activities like writing literature reviews, essays, and grant proposals, as well as delivering seminars. Each specialization has mandatory core units for the research component, with some offering optional coursework electives.
