The School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) provides multiple Honours programs, including one focused on Ecology. The Ecology Honours program immerses undergraduate students in research and project activities pertinent to diverse fields within biological, ecological, and environmental sciences. Under faculty guidance, students complete a research project that emphasizes scientific methodologies, specialized techniques, analytical reasoning, and effective scientific communication through written reports and presentations. This program's educational approach encourages students to embrace their role as researchers, fostering skill development and advanced subject knowledge with increasing autonomy. Spanning three academic sessions, the curriculum features a Research Proposal (potentially incorporating an in-depth literature review and risk assessment) along with a major independent Research Project supervised by BEES faculty. These core elements are supplemented by structured seminars and workshops that enhance key competencies such as scientific writing, risk management, ethical practices, and career readiness, alongside participation in School and Institute/Center seminars.
