This year-long program is available both full-time and part-time through the College of Sciences and Engineering's Architecture & Design department. Classes are held on-site at the Inveresk campus in Launceston. The curriculum focuses on delivering research skills and deepening expertise in specific design disciplines that address contemporary environmental challenges, many of which are already integrated into the School's offerings. The honors program particularly targets students planning to pursue advanced studies in related research areas. Successful completion qualifies graduates for postgraduate degrees in most associated disciplines. The School offers both a research-based Master of Design and a PhD pathway.

Qualification Requirements

Admission to Honours courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. Applicants must achieve the required grade in their qualifying studies, meet any prerequisite subjects and the English language requirements to be eligible for an offer. Admission is conditional on research project and supervisor availability. English Language Requirements For students who do not meet the English Language Requirement through citizenship or prior studies in English in an approved country, evidence of an approved English language test completed within the last 2 years must be provided. Course Specific Requirements Before beginning their course of study for the degree of BEnvDes(Hons) students shall have: Qualified for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Environmental Design (BEnvDes) in this University or qualified for admission to a degree in another design course in a tertiary institution approved by the College of Sciences and Engineering; and Achieved an Average Weighted Mark of at least 60% in the units of the final year of the BEnvDes course or an equivalent design course in another tertiary institution approved by the College. TOEFL (iBT) - 72 (no skill below- Reading 10; Listening 9; Speaking 16; Writing 19) IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5 PTE Academic - 50 with no score lower than 42
