The Bachelor of Arts with Honours program provides graduates of the Bachelor of Arts an additional year of specialized study to deepen their expertise in a chosen field, preparing them for professional careers or advanced academic pursuits like Master's or Doctoral degrees. Honours graduates will gain sophisticated understanding of core theories and methodologies within Humanities or Social Sciences, along with research competencies. This intensive one-year full-time program (or two-year part-time option, subject to School approval) is offered at both Hobart and Launceston campuses. Through the Honours degree, students will: Develop comprehensive mastery of fundamental theories and research methodologies in humanities/social science disciplines; Critically analyze, synthesize, and reflect on complex sociocultural, political, ethical, and environmental issues from diverse local and global perspectives; Effectively communicate specialized knowledge to both expert and general audiences through various media; Apply professional judgment in problem-solving, planning, and decision-making scenarios; Conduct independent scholarly research within humanities/social science disciplines; Cultivate essential workplace skills including adaptability, creativity, self-direction, and resilience.
