Legal education involves grasping social justice principles and leveraging law to benefit both society and the environment. It cultivates advanced legal competencies while fostering awareness of how these skills can serve various objectives. By examining law through local and international lenses - recognizing similarities across legal systems while appreciating how context influences laws and legal traditions - you unlock opportunities for diverse legal careers in Australia and worldwide.

Our curriculum starts with overviews of Greek and Roman civilizations, teaching techniques for analyzing ancient primary materials. Intermediate courses expose you to classical academic work while further honing your ability to critically assess primary sources. Advanced studies encourage critical engagement with scholarly research and foster intellectual autonomy through independent project development. The Ancient Civilisations and Ancient Languages majors collectively form our Classics program, both taught by distinguished Classics faculty. This major enhances analytical reasoning, research methodologies, and cross-cultural understanding - valuable assets for professions requiring ethical project evaluation, foresight about policy impacts, or appreciation of diverse perspectives. These competencies prove particularly relevant in: Government and Public Policy, Teaching, Personnel Management, and Charitable Organizations.
