The Australian Maritime College's Marine Engineering degree equips you with essential expertise for operating and maintaining shipboard engineering systems. This unique program combines academic study with professional short courses and sea training, enabling you to earn both a bachelor's degree (or Advanced Diploma) and an AMSA-issued Certificate of Competency. You'll develop practical skills to excel as a Marine Engineer on commercial vessels, mastering marine systems, ship operations, cargo/passenger transport, vessel management, maritime law, safety protocols, and marine surveying. For accelerated career entry, our program offers an early exit option with an Advanced Diploma after just two years, qualifying you as an Engineer Watchkeeper. All courses meet the rigorous STCW Convention (2010) standards for seafarer training and certification.

This degree requires an IELTS (Academic) of 6.0, with no individual band less than 5.5, or a PTE Academic score of 50, with no score lower than 42 or equivalent.
