studying both theoretical and practical elements of ocular anatomy, physiology, and optics
applying ophthalmic instruments, anatomical specimens, imaging techniques, and psychometric testing to gather consistent, reproducible data.
The 48-credit curriculum comprises:
5 mandatory course units
Practical Ophthalmic Science – an intensive two-week module offered at Sydney's Save Sight Institute or New Zealand's University of Otago
Capstone project – a 10,000-12,000 word research paper completed under faculty supervision.
