The Master of Film and Screen Arts (MFSA) provides practical training in modern screen production, guiding you through every stage from initial idea to final presentation.
This program is perfect for professionals aiming to build careers in film, screen arts, or digital media, as well as those interested in exploring current trends in filmmaking and interactive media.
Your studies will culminate with a capstone project where you'll create a significant moving image work for public viewing. You'll have the choice between a research-focused approach or professional development, including potential industry placements.
As a postgraduate coursework degree, the MFSA blends conventional filmmaking techniques with innovative approaches in cinematic arts.
A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Film and Screen Arts will:
hold a bachelor's degree or higher award in visual arts from the University of Sydney or a qualification deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; and
present a portfolio of creative work demonstrating the ability to undertake advanced art practice and coursework.
IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
