The Master of Dental Public Health program emphasizes preventing oral diseases and enhancing community-wide dental health, especially for underserved groups. Students will develop expertise in monitoring oral health trends, conducting research, and improving dental care systems and service provision.
This program caters to licensed Australian dentists pursuing specialist accreditation, as well as other dental professionals, international practitioners, and non-dental health workers involved in oral health initiatives.
As a postgraduate coursework degree, the Master of Dental Public Health equips students with advanced capabilities in oral health monitoring, policy creation, community prevention strategies, health education initiatives, research methodologies, and healthcare system optimization. Dentists who complete this program may qualify for specialist registration in public health dentistry with Australia's Dental Board.
The curriculum includes mandatory coursework in dental service systems, community oral health, and preventive dentistry, along with capstone and research components. Students may also select additional electives to fulfill degree requirements.
