The High Performance Buildings specialization connects all aspects of the built environment, including Architectural and Building Services (both design and operations), sustainable passive and active systems, strategic and operational Facility Management, and Property Economics (emphasizing investment return principles). Your studies will include hands-on research participation alongside academic learning.
Secondary Focus: Sound and Acoustics
This curriculum blends practical studio production courses with theoretical studies in acoustics and audio technology. You'll merge creative sound design, digital media, recording techniques, and system engineering with acoustic science, computer simulations, and psychological principles.
Admission to the Master of Architectural Science requires:
a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma; or
completion of the requirement of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all the units attempted for the award.
IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
