This six-year program offers a comprehensive blend of scientific knowledge and hands-on clinical training in veterinary medicine. During the initial two years, you'll build a strong foundation in biomedical and animal sciences essential for veterinary practice.
The combined Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree delivers integrated scientific training alongside specialized medical experience.
Your first two years focus on core Veterinary Biology subjects, establishing key biomedical and animal science principles. After successfully completing these foundational years, you'll advance to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, undertaking specialized coursework and practical placements.
The curriculum includes interactive small-group tutorials, laboratory sessions, and practical training in clinical procedures and animal handling. Your final year features intensive clinical rotations as a veterinary intern, working at the University's Veterinary Teaching Hospitals and affiliated external institutions. a secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), or approved higher education study at the University of Sydney or institutions with which the University of Sydney has a Credit Recognition Pathway, or approved preparation courses.
Submission of 'Commitment to Veterinary Science' form.
Completion of Altus suite's Casper Situational Judgement Test.
