Mathematics is a profound, elegant, and multifaceted discipline. It serves as both a universal language and an analytical framework for understanding our world. In introductory 1000 and 2000-level courses, this major provides students with core mathematical concepts: abstract algebra, multivariable calculus, vector calculus, along with rigorous proof techniques and analytical methods. Advanced 3000-level studies offer diverse elective options across pure and applied mathematics, covering topics like number theory, dynamical systems, geometry, topology, and computational mathematics. The curriculum is carefully structured to support aspiring mathematicians while accommodating those with interdisciplinary interests.
The combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Nursing program fosters analytical reasoning while allowing exploration of various scientific fields. Students complete foundational science courses, select a major from the Science discipline pool, and supplement their studies with additional electives to fulfill degree requirements.
The first year focuses exclusively on science coursework, with nursing studies beginning in the second year. Progression to the Master of Nursing requires meeting academic benchmarks. The nursing curriculum combines theoretical learning with extensive practical training, including more than 800 hours of clinical placements throughout the program.
