Animals hold great importance in human lives and societies, serving as sources of food, materials, and companionship. The Animal Health, Disease and Welfare program combines animal biology and ecology with veterinary science, teaching students about the scientific foundations of animal health, including physiology, molecular biology, pathogens, and welfare. A key focus is on preventing, treating, and understanding diseases in livestock, pets, and wildlife. This program equips graduates for careers in animal health, including disease prevention, monitoring, welfare, and production industries.
The combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Nursing program fosters analytical skills while allowing students to explore various scientific fields. Students complete core science requirements, choose a specialization, and take additional electives to fulfill credit requirements.
The first year focuses solely on science courses, with nursing studies beginning in the second year. Progression to the Master of Nursing requires meeting academic standards. The nursing component includes coursework and extensive hands-on training, featuring over 800 hours of clinical placements.
