Gain the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience needed for a fulfilling career as a para-veterinary professional in animal healthcare. The Bachelor of Veterinary Technology covers fundamental sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics), animal care techniques, welfare and behavior studies, clinical nutrition, disease processes, and diagnostic methods. The curriculum includes clinical training for both small and large animals, therapeutic approaches, surgical/medical nursing fundamentals, and veterinary practice administration. Throughout your studies, you can select from diverse electives such as agribusiness, equine studies, wildlife conservation, and livestock management. Additionally, you can expand your qualifications by combining this degree with the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Certificate III in Rural Operations, or Farm Ready certification. Graduates emerge prepared for careers across multiple sectors including clinical practice, commercial operations, research institutions, educational settings, diagnostic laboratories, zoological facilities, and various livestock industries. This program also serves as a stepping stone to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) degree.
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); General Mathematics or Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C). Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics are recommended subjects.

For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
