The History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) program offers an opportunity to expand and enhance your understanding of science's role in today's world. Through HPS, you'll step back from the narrow focus of other disciplines to examine science's broader context - its evolution, current structure, societal integration, and the social, cultural, and ethical implications of scientific progress.

For students outside the Science Faculty, HPS provides valuable insights into science's fundamental nature, historical growth, and contemporary significance. The program also introduces you to key political and ethical debates surrounding modern scientific practice.
