The Food Science program combines introductory studies in biology, chemistry, and statistics with intermediate coursework covering food science fundamentals and biochemistry, followed by specialized senior-level subjects in food processing, food chemistry & biochemistry, technological applications, and product innovation.
This major equips students with both theoretical understanding and practical competencies valued by food sector employers. Its multidisciplinary, hands-on approach also cultivates adaptable skills applicable across various life and environmental science disciplines.

The Bachelor of Science (Advanced) undergraduate program enhances analytical and critical thinking abilities, opening doors to research careers that contribute to global betterment. Students begin with core foundational science units before specializing through a chosen stream, program, or major from the Science disciplines, complemented by a secondary focus area. The curriculum also includes Open Learning Environment components and elective units to fulfill degree requirements.
