The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) enables you to undertake an independent research project in a field of your choosing. Develop advanced critical analysis abilities and specialized expertise as you plan and execute a supervised thesis.
Designed for exceptional students who have finished either a Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing (pre-registration), this program empowers you to explore concepts that could enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes while paving the way for future research opportunities.
The program blends coursework with personalized research. The academic component covers research methodologies and thesis preparation (approximately 15,000 words).
You'll undertake four study units focusing on research design and methodology, including data gathering and analysis methods, along with the ethical aspects of conducting research. A dedicated supervisor will mentor you through your project, assisting with research question formulation, study design, ethics applications, data collection, and the writing/publication process.
Additionally, you'll have opportunities to present your work to fellow students during research forums, helping you refine and improve your project.
Research workshops are conducted during Semester 1.
These workshops feature presentations by various guest experts covering diverse research specialties.
