Spanish studies provide comprehensive linguistic proficiency alongside cultural understanding, enabling examination of historical and modern political, social, and cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking societies. Through language and cultural courses, you'll investigate modern and contemporary culture; analyze significant literary, cinematic, cultural, and intellectual movements across various media; and critically engage with issues concerning race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, and social justice.
