The Bachelor of Arts honours program serves as both a foundation for advanced studies and the pinnacle of undergraduate achievement. This intensive year can mark the conclusion of your academic journey while expanding your intellectual horizons, refining research skills, and enhancing analytical and communication methods. It equips you with the personal and professional competencies required to successfully complete a research endeavor. Ideal for undergraduates with a single major, the honours year also provides a potential pathway toward academic or research-oriented careers. The program combines seminar participation with an independent research project, guided by a faculty expert in your chosen field.
The French and Francophone Studies honours track includes two semester-long seminars and requires an 18,000-20,000 word thesis on a student-selected topic.
Eligibility for the honours program demands a French and Francophone Studies major with a minimum 70% average. Prospective honours students are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one semester abroad in a French-speaking nation.
