The Bachelor of Arts honours program serves as both a foundation for advanced studies and the crowning achievement of undergraduate education. This intensive year can mark the completion of your formal learning while expanding your intellectual horizons, refining research skills, enhancing analytical and communication methods, and developing the personal competencies required to successfully execute a research project. Ideal for undergraduates with a single major, honours also provides the initial step toward academic or professional research careers. The program combines seminar participation with an independent research thesis, guided by a faculty expert in your chosen field.
The Film Studies honours curriculum includes two semester-long courses and an 18,000–20,000 word thesis.
Students explore cinema history, film theory and analysis, cinematic aesthetics, and interdisciplinary connections with film.
The Film Studies honours program cultivates independent research capabilities, preparing graduates for either professional opportunities or postgraduate studies ranging from theoretical film research to practical film production programs at Masters and Doctoral levels.
