This five-year combined degree provides a thorough and adaptable education, qualifying graduates as accredited social workers while offering the opportunity to supplement the Bachelor of Social Work with additional majors or minors. The program mandates either a Sociology major/minor or a Social Policy minor, while allowing students to select other specializations like diversity studies, gender studies, Indigenous studies, or philosophy. The curriculum integrates social sciences, social policy, and social work theory with a focus on Australian and international welfare systems. The final two years feature a professional social work component, including two supervised fieldwork placements in diverse settings. The program progressively builds field education competencies, developing values, skills, and knowledge to meet AASW Practice Standards from foundational to professional levels.

The program combines language and cultural studies, examining modern cultural expressions, significant literary and cinematic movements, and critical engagement with issues of race, class, gender, and social justice. Learning occurs through interactive methods including group activities, role-playing, creative projects, digital assessments, and traditional academic work. Exchange opportunities with Spanish and Latin American universities offer immersive cultural experiences. Students progress through tailored pathways according to their language proficiency, with all major pathways culminating in a Spanish and Latin American Studies qualification.
