The honors program enhances the competencies gained in the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience by facilitating independent research guided by a faculty advisor. The coursework components strengthen theoretical and methodological knowledge, while the original research thesis evaluates and cultivates specialized disciplinary skills. The Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (Honours) becomes accessible upon fulfilling the three-year degree prerequisites and meeting the honors advancement criteria.
A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
Applicants must have completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (or equivalent) including a major in the proposed honours subject area at the University of Sydney, or equivalent studies at another institution; and
Applicants must have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65 or equivalent or a higher mark in the proposed honours subject area; and
Applicants meet any other requirements for honours entry set by the Faculty of Science.
