The Environmental and Sustainable Resources Engineering major at UniSQ equips students with top-tier expertise to analyze and address pressing environmental challenges while preparing them for impactful roles in key sustainability sectors. Much of the program emphasizes hands-on, project-driven learning with industry partnerships, directly supporting the UN's sustainable development objectives. You'll develop skills to strategize, design, and execute transformative solutions for land rehabilitation, water/soil conservation, and infrastructure development. Gain real-world experience through practical placements and a capstone research initiative - past projects have explored energy recovery from abattoir wastewater, improved surface irrigation assessment methods, and evaluating emission-reduction technologies for enterprises.
Following two years of full-time study, you'll earn an embedded Associate Degree of Engineering while progressing toward Professional Engineer accreditation. Graduates can pursue diverse roles including environmental consultancy, renewable energy project leadership, water resources engineering, regulatory compliance, or sustainability analysis. These qualifications open doors across multiple sectors from resource management and energy production to environmental auditing and waste minimization initiatives.
