The Mining Engineering program was created under the Minerals Industry National Associate Degree (MINAD) initiative by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA). This program covers the planning, design, testing, and operation of both surface and underground mines, while providing hands-on learning opportunities in classrooms and at actual mining locations. You'll study practical geomechanics, material science, engineering design, geology, transportation systems, along with surveying techniques, ventilation systems, computer applications, automation technologies, mineral extraction methods, and mine development strategies.
As one of Australia's most significant and diverse sectors, the mining industry offers opportunities to work in unique locations worldwide. The expertise you gain at UniSQ can lead to roles in explosives engineering, surface mining, or underground construction. Upon completion, graduates will be qualified to contribute to mine development planning, design excavation and disposal zones, coordinate extraction and transport operations, implement monitoring systems, oversee mining activities, and manage production processes.
Applicant must have Australian year 12 level or equivalent.
Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.
