This discipline equips you for careers in counselling psychology by integrating academic study, hands-on training, and research opportunities.
As a counselling psychologist, you'll support individuals, families, and communities with challenges involving mental health, social connections, career development, leisure activities, and overall wellness.
Your training will prepare you to address both immediate psychological crises and ongoing mental health concerns. Career opportunities span various sectors requiring therapeutic expertise, including nonprofit counseling services, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and corporate wellness programs. You might also establish an independent counseling practice.
Upon completion, you'll qualify for Australian psychologist registration and can join the College of Counselling Psychologists as an associate member.
