The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a globally acknowledged postgraduate research qualification.
Under the supervision of your advisory committee, you'll conduct substantial research culminating in a 40,000-word dissertation and oral defense. In certain cases, your final submission may take an alternative form.
Full-time MPhil candidates typically complete the program in 1.5-2 years, gaining sophisticated research skills and methodological expertise.
This self-directed program requires robust academic preparation for admission. Applicants often must provide a research proposal and supplementary documentation.
Each year, approximately 500 MPhil scholars enroll at UQ, exploring diverse research areas. Numerous MPhil graduates opt to advance their studies by pursuing doctoral degrees.
