The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a globally acknowledged postgraduate research qualification. Under the supervision of your advisory committee, you'll conduct an extensive research initiative culminating in a 40,000-word dissertation and oral defense. Certain cases may permit alternative thesis formats. Full-time MPhil candidates typically complete the program in 1.5-2 years, gaining sophisticated subject expertise and research methodologies. This self-directed program requires substantial academic preparation for admission, potentially including a research proposal and supplementary application materials. Annually, approximately 500 MPhil scholars enroll at UQ, exploring diverse academic fields. Numerous MPhil graduates opt to advance their studies toward a doctoral degree.
You have to prove you are prepared for MPhil study. You do this by showing you:
have completed some relevant experience
have completed an approved university degree and
can meet the English language requirements.
