The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a globally recognized postgraduate research qualification.
Under supervision from your academic advisors, you'll conduct substantial research culminating in a 40,000-word dissertation and oral defense. In certain cases, alternative thesis formats may be permitted.
Full-time MPhil candidates typically complete the program in 1.5-2 years, gaining sophisticated research skills and methodological expertise.
This independent research degree requires strong academic preparation for admission. Applicants often need to provide a research proposal and supplementary documentation.
Each year, approximately 500 MPhil students enroll at UQ, exploring diverse research areas. Numerous graduates progress to doctoral studies to pursue PhD qualifications.
