The Graduate Diploma in Science caters to mathematics, physics, or statistics graduates seeking to deepen their expertise in their respective disciplines.
During your year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent), you'll choose from approximately 30 courses, gaining specialized knowledge and practical skills relevant to your focus area.
UQ's Science program equips you for fulfilling careers across multiple sectors. Mathematics alumni often pursue advanced degrees and research roles at universities and leading institutions. Physics graduates develop strong analytical and problem-solving abilities prized by diverse employers. Similarly, Statistics graduates find excellent opportunities across business, industry, research, and government sectors.
Mathematics field: Bachelor degree with mathematics major
Physics field: Bachelor degree with physics major
Statistics field: Bachelor degree with statistics major.
UQ or equivalent GPA of 5.5 or above on a 7 point scale.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
