Build expertise in mechanical engineering to meet tomorrow's industry needs.
The Master of Mechanical Engineering (Professional) provides advanced study in one of engineering's most diverse disciplines. Key focus areas include:
motion systems and automation
heat transfer and fluid dynamics
structural mechanics and engineering design
production processes and material properties.
A fundamental aspect of mechanical engineering involves problem definition, solution generation, analytical modeling, and optimal solution selection within given parameters. These essential skills are woven throughout the curriculum, equipping graduates with adaptable capabilities for evolving professional landscapes.
To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
a 4-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or
a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) which includes all of the relevant discipline content (see below), or
to have successfully completed 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Mechanical Engineering (Professional).
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications
Relevant disciplines include mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, mechanical and industrial engineering, mechatronic engineering, mechanical and automation engineering, and marine engineering.
If your bachelor's degree was not awarded in these disciplines, you must have successfully completed all of the following discipline content in your tertiary studies:
advanced/higher/engineering mathematics
statistics
programming
engineering materials
engineering mechanics
mechanics of materials
machine design
intermediate dynamics or control or intermediate electrical circuits
fluid mechanics
thermodynamics
