The University of Queensland's Master of Magnetic Resonance Technology is an intensive 18-month program tailored for professionals seeking in-depth knowledge of magnetic resonance physics and technology. Students benefit from access to the Southern Hemisphere's most extensive collection of advanced magnetic resonance equipment, featuring three whole-body scanners, multiple High Resolution NMR spectrometers, solid state and EPR instruments, along with micro-imaging and animal imaging systems.
This multidisciplinary program brings together expert radiographers, physicians, medical physicists, chemists, and engineers who teach the principles of magnetic resonance physics, image formation processes, modern MRI scanner components, and specialized practical competencies crucial for success in this evolving field.
Participants will explore cutting-edge techniques not yet adopted in routine clinical settings. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through innovative magnetic resonance projects, while developing skills to evaluate radiography practice requirements and implement solutions using equipment from diverse manufacturers.
Bachelor degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, medical imaging, medical radiation, radiography, allied health, biomedical engineering, engineering, computer science, or an approved discipline; or Graduate Certificate or Certificate Diploma in Magnetic Resonance Technology. Applications on the basis of post-secondary study and two years work experience in a related field will be individually assessed. UQ or equivalent GPA of 4 or above on a 7 point scale
