The Master of Conservation Science program equips you with scientific approaches to inform conservation strategies and policies. This comprehensive course combines conservation principles, ecological studies, and biodiversity science – emphasizing challenges in preserving and rehabilitating animal and plant populations, along with natural and managed ecosystems – to help you tackle intricate conservation issues.
Delivered by leading global specialists, this intensive program enables you to cover two academic years' worth of material in just 18 months.
You'll expand your knowledge across biodiversity conservation, environmental ethics, conservation policies at national and international levels, and structured conservation planning. Beyond advanced coursework, you'll participate in diverse field studies at exceptional locations including subtropical rainforests, protected areas, and UQ's research facilities at Heron Island and Moreton Bay.
Bachelor's degree in botany, ecology, evolution, zoology, or an approved discipline with UQ or equivalent GPA of 5 on a 7 point scale.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
