The Master of Agricultural Science program caters to recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds, individuals holding a Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Science, and experienced professionals seeking to enhance their expertise.
Students have the option to pursue an independent research project, allowing them to develop technical and research capabilities while collaborating with the university's top academics or within industry environments.
Upon completion, graduates gain the skills to employ leadership, research, and analytical abilities to address worldwide challenges in food production and environmental conservation. These challenges include growing societal demands for animal welfare, biosecurity issues, and the allocation of scarce resources. Such qualifications significantly broaden career opportunities across government sectors, private enterprises, community organizations, and research institutions.
This master's degree also serves as a stepping stone toward pursuing an MPhil or PhD.
Bachelor degree in any field; or
Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Science.
UQ or equivalent GPA of 4.5 or above on a 7 point scale.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
