Pursue an independent research initiative and deepen your enthusiasm for native wildlife by enhancing your Bachelor of Wildlife Science qualifications with an honors year. The Bachelor of Wildlife Science (Honors) offers an extra year of academic work building upon your undergraduate degree. This course allows you to conduct self-directed research in Wildlife Science under the guidance of a faculty member specializing in wildlife studies. You'll also develop competencies in research techniques, academic communication, and entrepreneurial skills, preparing you for advanced research degrees or various career paths. The honors curriculum expands on concepts from the Wildlife Science program, covering native and non-native amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, biodiversity, and human-wildlife relationships. Through this extended study, you'll gain advanced knowledge in managing both captive and wild animal populations, positioning you to significantly impact Australia's wildlife conservation, game management, and vertebrate pest control sectors.
Bachelor of Wildlife Science (or equivalent), with:
an overall GPA of 5, and
have secured an honours project and supervisor, and
satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
