The University of Queensland's engineering program provides Queensland's most extensive selection of engineering disciplines, featuring numerous unique specializations, majors, and minors. We've completely redesigned the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program, developing an innovative curriculum that positions students as engineering leaders for 2024, 2034, and future decades. The redesigned program features a versatile first year with practical learning across all engineering disciplines, expanded study choices for enhanced career prospects, and continuous industry engagement with potential employers throughout your studies. Students build specialized technical expertise through a core focus area that becomes their professional foundation, selecting from chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, mechatronic, or software engineering. Additionally, students can enhance their primary engineering focus with complementary studies in emerging engineering fields through optional majors or minors. Our extensive selection of specialization options enables students to customize their education to align with professional goals and explore their passions in depth.
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).
Both Chemistry and Physics are recommended subjects. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) is also a recommended subject. Students studying Specialist Mathematics and both Physics and Chemistry will have increased flexibility in their studies.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
