The Bachelor of Architectural Design program focuses on experiential, creative education through design studio work. Students engage in practical construction projects at various scales, advancing through increasingly sophisticated materials and structural forms.
Design studios replicate real-world experiences at both local and global architecture firms while maintaining an enjoyable learning environment. Typically project-based, these studios culminate in students researching and presenting their design solutions before classmates and industry professionals at semester's end.
Through direct manipulation of materials like paper, cardboard, clay, and foam, students build confidence in exploring architectural shapes. The program also provides access to advanced tools including laser cutters and 3D printers for model-making, furniture construction, prototype development, and even small-scale building projects using campus workshop resources.
Participants develop deep cultural awareness while honing essential abilities in collaboration, leadership, and communication. The curriculum covers built environments, community planning, construction documentation, human-centered design, and ecological considerations.
